.....and once again we are open for business

Taking post lock down bookings now

Bob, Chris and Ian make up this three piece Rockin' band playing authentic Rock 'n’ Roll and Rockabilly. Based in Bedfordshire, but gigging across the UK, from Carlisle to the Ace Cafe in London and Southend to Bristol.

Creating a rocking party with guests such as Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly & Elvis as well as some self penned material to get you up dancing!

With a repertoire of original material, unique covers and rock 'n' roll standards we are happy to play in small spaces and large places both indoor and outdoor.

Bob MacDonald

Raised on country music, Bob’s Rockabilly roots grew early and matured during the 70’s rock n roll revival when Johnny & The Roccos became a firm favourite, developing a love of live music. Unable to understand guitars Bob found his groove with the double bass. He started playing with Porky’s Hot Rockin’. Later he joined Fat Sound, The Thunderbolts, The CC Smugglers and the reformed Whirlwind. He recorded with Johnny & the Roccos (on maraccas), CC Smugglers on their first EP, and Whirlwind’s comeback album Back Into The Storm. In 2013 Bob started The Flyin’ Leathernecks and the producion of the album has afforded him his first foray into song writing. Bob’s other life long passions are classic cars, bikes and aircraft of the 40’s and 50’s.

Chris Ashby

Chris was introduced to the drums at an early age by his father who played drums in dance bands. After a number of school bands he enjoyed success as a DJ in the late 60's thru to the late 70's. Never far from a stage - he was then involved in amateur dramatics, musicals and pantomimes for the next 20 years. His passion for drumming was reignited in 2001 by his son who at that time was having drum lessons at school. Now back on a drum stool - he went on to play in several bands including The Gap' Rhythm & Booze & Out Numbered. Having been introduced to Bob MacDonald by their retiring drummer he joined The Flyin’ Leathernecks just over 4 years ago and there’s been no looking back. When not on a stage Chris' other main interest has always been British classic cars.

Ian Martin

Ian started playing piano at the age of 4, bass at 13 and guitar at 16, and has been thrilled by Big Band, Jump/Jive, Rockabilly and Rock ’n’ Roll for as long as he can remember. A founder member of the Metrotones and The Swing Kings, he’s played almost every major festival and venue in Europe and Scandinavia, and has played and backed original artists at Hemsby on 22 occasions. Ian has also played or recorded with the Tennessee Rhythm Riders, Red Hot & Blue and others. Ian is also a classic car and bike fan, having owned and almost finished a number over the years.
